Garden Salad



We love this Salad with Lasagna. Make sure the veggies used here are as fresh as possible.

Taste the Romaine lettuce before buying and better not to buy when the weather is hot, Romaine lettuce turns bitter in hot weather. Look for closely bunched ones.


Romaine Lettuce or Iceberg – 1

Cherry tomatoes – 5 or 6

Onion – 1 finely sliced

Cabbage – Julienne ½ cup

For dressing:

Olive oil – 1 tsp

Apple cider Vinegar – 1 tsp

Sugar – ½ tsp

Salt- as per taste

Pepper – ½ tsp ground

Garlic – 2

Coriander leaves – ½ cup


(Optional) For Garnish:

Dried oregano – 1 tsp

Dried basil – 1 tsp

Ricotta cheese – 1tsp

Sesame seeds – 1 tsp toasted (optional)

Directions for Dressing:

Grind coriander leaves and garlic, Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and whisk to blend. Season with salt and pepper. (Can be prepared 1 day ahead. Cover and refrigerate.)

For Salad:

Wash the lettuce and tear into bite sized pieces.

Shred Cabbage and add onion, chopped cherry tomatoes.

Toss the salad in the dressing just before serving.

Garnish with ricotta cheese, toasted sesame seeds, oregano and basil.


Cucumber Peanut Salad

A very cooling and tasty Raita/ Salad that goes very well with Paratha’s and Puri.



Peeled Cucumber – 2

Peanuts – roasted and pounded 1 cup

Sugar – 1 tsp

Salt – 1 tsp

Red chili powder – 1 tsp

Black Pepper powder – 1/2 tsp

Roasted Cumin Powder – 1 tsp

Chopped green chili – 1

Yogurt – 1 cup

Coriander leaves for garnish



Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp

Curry leaves – 5-6 chopped

Oil – 1 tsp



Peel and Grate the cucumbers and place them in a bowl, without draining or squeezing out the water. Add yogurt, salt, sugar, green chilly and mix. Add crushed peanuts and mix.

For tempering, take 1 tsp oil and heat. Add Curry leaves and mustard seeds.

Now pour this tadka over the salad.

Garnish with coriander and sprinkle some black pepper powder, Cumin powder and red chili powder.

Serve cold.


We all love Coleslaw at our home and i make it with some add ons my Style.
Shredded Cabbage  1 cup
Shredded Carrot 1/2 cup

Shredded Capsicum  1/2 cup

Dressing :
Cheese Spread 1 tbsp
Mayonaisse 1/2 cup
Milk 2 tsp
Apple cider vinegar 2 tsp
Buttermilk 2 tsp
Salt as per taste
Sugar 1 tsp
Black pepper 1 tsp
Oregano seasoning 1 tsp

Olive oil or Butter 3-4 tsp

Add Ons:
Roasted cashews broken


In a large Bowl, add Olive oil or butter and all the ingredients mentioned under dressing.
Whisk well and Add Shredded veggies. Toss and add roasted cashews n some raisins.
